Victoria by the Sea, or Victoria, as it is officially known, is a charming and historic village located on the South Shore of Prince Edward Island – just 20 km from the Confederation Bridge – which joins the Island to the mainland at Cape Jourimain, New Brunswick.
We are a small community of fishers, farmers, craft persons, artists and residents with varied backgrounds and interesting life stories.
Victoria is a hub of activity during the summer. The restaurants and cafes are humming, the theatre runs nightly, the shops and galleries are open, and the Island Chocolates deck is full of villagers and visitors enjoying the sea breeze and sunshine. The vintage postcard above shows the Wright Bros. General Store on Mainstreet, now home to Island Chocolates.
We also have a sandy beach beside our main wharf – complete with washroom facilities – safe for young children, old folks and everyone in between. You will probably meet Paul from By the Sea Kayaking who can answer most of your queries regarding the seaside environment.
We hope you will visit soon. You may arrive a stranger, but you will leave a friend.
