The Victoria Playhouse is pleased to announce that Jeremie Saunders will play the lead role of Robert, a mentally challenged man, in the comedy/drama Kiss The Moon, Kiss The Sun by Norm Foster which opens Saturday June 28th. Jeremie attended Ryerson Theatre School and in his third year of studies was cast as the host of the TV show Artzooka. In 2011 he won a Gemini Award for Best Host of a Children’s Program for Season One of the show. In 2013 he won a Canadian Screen Award in the same category for his work on Season Two. He has since been involved in various TV and Film projects and Kiss The Moon, Kiss The Sun marks his return to the stage. Playing opposite Jeremie as Holly, a pregnant young woman, is Rebecca Griffin, a 2014 graduate of the Theatre Performance Program at the Holland College School of the Performing Arts. Cathy Grant returns to play Robert’s mother and Mark Fraser will portray Simon, Holly’s on again/off again boyfriend. The role of the doctor is being played by Mark Stevenson. The Playhouse is excited to have Ted Price (director of the 2012 hit On Golden Pond) back to direct Kiss The Moon, Kiss The Sun and Scott MacConnell is the scenic designer. Teresa Mallam from the Prince George Free Press called the play ‘a masterpiece’. In her review she states “… Kiss the Moon, Kiss the Sun is absolutely outstanding. Bravo! The play is very funny. Heroic and heartwarming. Riveting from start to finish.”
