A Two For One Special has been announced for the Preview performance of The Tale of a Town – PEI on Friday August 8
beginning at 7:30 pm.
The Tale of a Town – PEI comes to the Victoria Playhouse from August 8 – 24. Fixt Point Theatre has been on the Island with their storymobile since early July gathering local tales and creating a performance piece designed specifically to be presented in Victoria. Based on interviews with residents, business owners and local heroes this original creation mixes soundbytes, archives, music and memories into a multi-media experience that recounts local tales from the past and inspires dreams for the future.
Director and co-creator Lisa Marie Diliberto is excited to present the show. “It has been an absolute delight to create this show that features the real voices of islanders alongside a plethora of simply stunning theatrical devices including shadow play, live cinema and physical comedy played out by some of Canada’s finest talent. We are thrilled to be presenting The Tale of a Town at Victoria Playhouse, a venue replete with history and stories and we look forward to taking you on a walk down Main Street to remember how it was, once upon a time…in PEI.”
The production features FIXT POINT Theatre performers Deanna Jones, Adam Paolozza and Robert Feetham and Island performers actor Kristena McCormack and musician Justin Simard. The Tale of a Town – PEI is part of a larger project which sees FIXT POINT travelling across Canada gathering stories and finishing
in Ottawa to celebrate the Sesqicentennial of the birth of Canada.
