Catherine MacLellan is bringing together two of her favourite songwriters, Rachael Kilgour and Lucy Farrell, for an evening of songs, stories, open hearts and laughter.
Catherine MacLellan is a JUNO award winner, ECMA songwriter of the year, and has released 7 albums over the past 20 years while touring around the world. She makes her home in her beloved Prince Edward Island, her songs reflecting the landscape of the island. Her music takes you through struggles, triumphs and the joy of life. Catherine is dedicated to the craft of songwriting, her desire for connection is at the heart of her work.
Lucy Farrell – Odd, unconventional melodies, poetic, sophisticated song-writing and the bewitching clarity of Kent-born, Canada-based Lucy Farrell’s voice are made elegant with sparse, careful accompaniment on tenor guitar and occasionally viola, carving out a unique niche for an artist at the forefront of contemporary English folk music. Finding an international audience among artists like Julia Jacklin, Emily Portman, The Weather Station, The Unthanks and Eliza Carthy, the 2017 BBC Radio 2 Folk Award Winner Lucy Farrell is not only awarded as a renowned composer and singer, but also as viola/fiddle/tenor guitar-player.
Rachael Kilgour writes (and sings) in hopes of finding a truth she can live with. Her 2023 release “My Father Loved Me” was written in memory of her late, Canadian dad and was recorded with help from some of the nation’s finest talent. In the spare and often gutting language for which she is known, Kilgour poses questions about belonging, inheritance and grief and triumphantly affirms the value of one ordinary working man’s life.
A dual-citizen born and raised in Minnesota, Kilgour has shared her heartfelt and surprisingly comedic performances across the U.S. and Canada. She earned a prestigious McKnight Music Fellowship in 2025, was an official showcasing artist at the FAI Conference (2025), and was the winner of both the Kerrville New Folk Contest (2017) and the Newsong Competition (2015). Her oft-noted “unapologetic lyrics” (Rolling Stone) and “master crafted indie folk” sensibilities (Billboard) are on full display in her most recent collection of delicately woven songs.
